reconfigure

so i'm realigning my sound studio space a bit, having had the great fortune of being able to remove the electronics work bench completely out of that room thanks to the reduction in head count around here.

i've pretty much decided to change out the entire thing around, setting up my monitors on the north wall as opposed to the west. those of you [admittedly a very small portion here] who know me know that this is a very big deal involving close to an exodus of inpractically large, pointy heavy shit. i also shut everything down, so tomorrow morning i'll have a better idea of the sort of heat generated by my monitor amplifier at idle. i'm seriously considering setting up a tube amp in each room of the house this winter, as it is looking highly unlikely we'll be springing for fuel for our oil furnace any time soon.

cold makes us stronger [now if i can just convince everyone else of this].

computer keyboard sounds still drive me nuts. i'm wondering if this is a little more than temporary. anyone have a tip on a *silent* keyboard that will not break the bank?

my plan is to have the studio back on line very shortly. should be easier this time, as the main rack is internally wired, and i just nudged the big rack back a couple feet without pulling any wires.

i'm also considering becoming more selective with the friends only lock down on various entries. this is merely preemptive action before i flip a few switches on a couple things [and not evidence that i am undergoing mental duress or mild paranoia]. chances are, if you're reading this, you won't be impacted at all.
